IS THE PRESS IN CULVER CITY OWNED BY THE SCHOOL BOARD?

5 Aug

As the community in Culver City begins to hear more about the misconduct in the CULVER CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AND  its SCHOOL BOARD, and voices are raised with questions about the opaque dealings of this school board, a glaring question has come up.

Is the press in Culver City owned by Scott Zeidman and Kathy Paspalis, and their squadron of attorneys paid in the millions over past years to litigate against special education students and to litigate against teachers?  As community members reach out to the press for coverage of the recent discovery that the State of California’s Office of Administrative Hearings has 78 cases involving CCUSD and students between 2005 and now, and the invoices from  CCUSD paid to their attorneys total over a million in legal fees litigating with special education students alone – to stop them from getting therapy and educational support under federal law (IDEA) – the community wants answers.

But the press in Culver City don’t want to hear about it , apparently,  One reporter said he’d only get his information from the school board and he didn’t want any information from community members harmed by this litigation protocol.  Another publisher put self-written endorsements from Zeidman on his internet paper, which were not truthful.  When the falsehood of the material was noted, the publisher remained steadfast in keeping the fictional information up online.  This publisher also published d a fictional writer with a fake name to write in about a parent who was unlawfully censored at a recent school board meeting for trying to speak up about the litigation scandal.  The parent was made live-bait for Zeidman, Paspalis and their posse of mouthpieces to defame and bully at will.

What’s happening in Culver City? Are the prisoners running the institution?  There is a board election happening now, where candidates are raising in excess of $20,000 to get themselves elected.  From where?

The Frontpage Online, The Culver City Observer and The Culver City News have all demonstrated thus far, in this era of misconduct, that they are  bought and sold mouthpieces for the CCUSD school board.  Not one will even listen to parents or concerned citizens about this litigation scandal in a district who is cutting teachers because of budget crises.

Will any publication emerge as a true source of journalism in this election season or will the community be lead down a garden path by self-placed articles by self-serving school board politicians wanting everyone to keep drinking the Kool Aid?

The mission statement of The Frontpage Online includes the following words:

About the Front Page Online

At the Front Page Online, our aim is to be the Voice of Culver City…and Beyond. We strive to provide breaking news, thought-provoking commentary, and, most importantly, a forum for all members of our community to make their voices heard on the issues that matter.

A forum for all members?  Or only those who walk lock step with Scott Zeidman in robbing the special education students in CCUSD of their right to an education?

CCUSD CORRUPTION

12 Jun

CULVER CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, through its Superintendent Patrica Jaffe, its special education office and its SCHOOL BOARD, has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in the past decade litigating against or using its lawyers to intimidate and harass families out of seeking appropriate education and therapeutic supports for their developmentally disabled children.  School Board members Scott Zeidman and Katherine Paspalis take personal interest in using their power to stop students with disabilities from accessing this crucially needed educational support mandated by the Federal government.

Please read this site to learn about how your tax payer dollars are being used to harm special education students with developmental disabilities through litigation and harassment.  If you have a story about discrimination and harassment or any other kind of CCUSD CORRUPTION to share, please contact us today. This site stands for children with autism and other developmental disabilities and for the families who stake everything they have in the struggle to access adequate education and supports to raise these children.
